Pokosha 50

Distance: 50 miles
Location: Sechelt, BC to Squamish, BC
Date: August 28, 2017

This race follows the Coast to Valley Trail – an intense single-track adventure four years in the making. After bussing across the Howe Sounds ferry, you will start running on the outskirts of Sechelt, and follow a mix of forestry roads and single track with significant elevation. The best is kept for the end, where 15km of prime single track will take you over the Pokosha Pass, and down through temperate rain forest for the big finish.

This is a rugged, mountainous, remote trail, and a high degree of self-sufficiency is expected.

As permitting is being finalized, registration is not formally open. However, we are accepting pre-registration. The $10 charged is a donation to the Squamish Offroad Cycling Association (SORCA), which is the prime trail building body in the Sea to Sky corridor. Once registration opens, it will be opened to pre-registrants first, subject to meeting acceptance criteria and a time-limit on registering, at a discounted rate. Should there be more pre-registrants than available slots, the rest of the pre-registration list will form a wait-list for the race; should there be fewer pre-registrants than available slots in the race, the remaining slots will be offered to others. Should registration not open for any reason, pre-registrants may request their fee be returned or leave it as a donation to SORCA.
